New Programme Launch: Learning Beyond the Saddle

We have launched a new "Unmounted" programme for new and existing clients who have outgrown our programme. Our assistant coach Kate explains that it will provide an inclusive and hands-on way to build confidence and practical skills as well as knowledge of horses and the care they require. This programme covers all the basics such as behaviour and body language, grooming, safe tying and leading, daily care, feeding, paddocking and horse health and welfare.

It is designed to be accessible to all members of our disabled community and has a particular appeal for previous riders who have outgrown our mounted programmes as they interact with our horses in a new and meaningful way. It will give learners a safe, purpose-built environment to nurture friendships, belong and thrive

We've had some excellent feedback from our first term clients:

“Our son has loved the last two sessions. I was worried he might get upset about not riding but he seems ok. To be fair, just being able to be around the horses, touch them, feed them and learn about them is sufficient for him. I think he could just cuddle or pat a horse for an hour and come away happy!! I was also amazed that he spent nearly an hour colouring in the picture Kate gave them last week – unheard of in our house!!

“I love the way Kate recapped from the 1st session, at the start of the 2nd session. He doesn’t have a great memory so repeating the important information from week to week is great”

“Our daughter is so happy to be back”

“Great to see our daughter engaging and communicating”
