Arena in Action: World-Class Training Hosted, Local Impact

North Shore RDA's covered arena recently played host to a series of dressage coaching sessions of some beautiful Friesian horses from Classic Friesian Stud NZ. These were instructed by a world class trainer, Juan Diego Garcia Trevijano all the way from Spain.

Organiser Simone du Bernard had this to say:

We were beyond grateful for the fantastic undercover arena!

We had the most incredible three days at North Shore Riding for the Disabled in Silverdale.

With the storm rolling in, rain pelting down and wind howling, we were beyond grateful for the fantastic undercover arena. While the weather raged outside, we remained dry, safe, and completely focused — able to continue our training without interruption.

The facilities allowed us to make the absolute most of our time with Juan, who travelled all the way from Spain to train us. Having uninterrupted access to such a well-maintained, sheltered arena meant we could stay productive and fully engaged in every session. The consistency of training — despite the wild conditions — made a significant difference to both riders and horses.

The facilities truly made this experience possible. It’s a wonderful asset to the equestrian community, providing a safe, reliable environment in all weather conditions. We are incredibly grateful and would highly recommend the North Shore Riding for the Disabled in Silverdale for hire to anyone looking for quality facilities and a supportive setting for training.  We will be back next year in February 😊
