Kalmar Construction go all out!

Kalmar Construction Ltd is a proud Gold Sponsor of North Shore Riding for the Disabled and recently chose to dedicate their annual community day to a hands-on working bee at North Shore RDA in Stillwater. Working with NSRDA, the agreed objectives for the day were to construct a new horse shelter, repair and extend existing fencing, and enhance the area behind the stables with native plantings.
As it turned out the day happened to coincide with the wettest stormiest day we have had all winter! This stoic team battled the rain and wind to plant out the bank above our new stalls with native shrubs donated by Scrub Ecology.
These are all growing well and looking great. They also did an extension to the fence by the front gate, to make the entrance safer next to the creek.
Another Kalmar team went up into the pylon paddock and erected a permanent tin roof shelter on the existing horse shade shelter poles. Our horses now have shade from the sun and shelter from rain.
They were a very soggy crew when they came in for morning tea, but after hot pies and hot drinks they went back out into the rain to finish off the jobs. Everyone was in good spirits and enjoyed all the work they had put in. Thanks to Paul and Louise at Kalmar for organising this day (and getting stuck in with the others!). We really appreciate all your time and effort, and the financial contribution to making this happen.
This could not have been possible without the following business who donated materials and time to the event: Placemakers, Mansion Civil, Metalcraft, Roofdek, Mace Landscapes and Tree & Landcare Services.
Thank you all for helping make the day a huge success and a huge thanks to all the Kalmar staff who volunteered and for your continued support and ongoing sponsorship.
Note: Kalmar Construction were also the builders of our mounting ramp and the new outdoor horse stalls.
We've provided before and after photos of all the work completed below.
