President's Welcome!

Welcome to our latest newsletter!
We have both an exciting but challenging year ahead. We are fortunate to have a strong core team of staff and volunteers, a depth of capability in our Governance committee and some generous donors and sponsors.
We are working hard to make our 50th year a winner and we look forward to your help to achieve this.
Thanks once again to all our volunteers, sponsors, donors, and staff who continue to make this place so special.
Headline News
We are over the moon to announce Tom Webster has offered to be our new Ambassador. I'm sure working with Tom will provide a big boost to our community profile. Our hard work building a Corporate Sponsorship program has paid early dividends with our friends at Kalmar Construction signing up as our first Gold Corporate Sponsors, this is fantastic news. We look forward to working closely with the team at Kalmar!
New Horse Manager
At the end of Term 4, we bid farewell to our much-loved and highly respected Horse Manager, Kate Doyle. Her departure was a substantial loss for the team, but we wish her all the best in her future endeavours.
The committee swiftly recruited a replacement during the holidays, receiving an outstanding response to the job advertisement. We are thrilled to welcome Michelle Russell as our new Horse Manager. Michelle has a wealth of experience, having managed horses and coached children and adults.
Project News! - New outdoor Horse Stalls near completion
Late last year we began construction on six new outdoor horse stalls to add to the existing four to create shelter for all our horses during times of inclement winter weather.
We have only been able to build these horse stalls because of a special donation by Joy Todd and Malcolm Montgomery — Thank you so much, we are especially grateful.
Orewa Garden Club Fundraiser: A Blooming Success
In January, Vice President Tim Lofts, and I attended the Orewa Garden Club’s Garden party, which brought fantastic news for NSRDA. Earlier in the year, Tim had given garden club members a tour of our facilities, leading to NSRDA being chosen as their charity of the year for 2024. As a result, all the profits from this fundraising event — approximately $2,500 — were donated to us! We had a wonderful time at the event, enjoying a lovely lunch and even judging the best hat competition.
Thank you, Orewa Garden Club, for supporting us.
If you are a community group of like-minded individuals and would like to know more about how you can support North Shore RDA, please get in touch.
