Introducing Indi!

Indi is a core member of the RDA team and is loved by all our riders and volunteers. Indi came to RDA in September 2019 as a newly weaned mother, leaving behind her foal. Indi is a 14.3hh, 16-year-old skewbald mare. She is a station bred, which is a term that describes the environment a horse was bought up in, rather than its breeding. The Station bred horse is usually of mixed breeding and is born and bred on a high-country station. Traditionally, it meant that they were a very hardy, surefooted animal, and they have become a symbol of the rugged high country of New Zealand.

Before starting her life with us, Indi had competed at pony club and been an amazing hunter. Indi has a kind, gentle nature, and loves her food!

A good portion of Indi's annual feed and costs have been kindly sponsored by SKIDS Sunnynook and Kingsway.  If your interested in sponsoring one of our horses please get in contact at info@northshorerda.org

We are always on the lookout for new horses to add to our herd, so if you know of someone who might be selling – or willing to donate a likely new recruit, please let us know.
